Built over 50 years ago, the Historic Log Lodge constructed the same as early Alaskan cabins were 100 years ago. The
foundation is gravel and the logs, gathered from around the property, are held
together with wood spikes instead of nails. The logs were “chinked”, using moss on the property, to seal
it from the winter cold. As the
cabin has settled over the years, the main door had to be re-cut to heighten
the entrance so visitors would have adequate headroom when entering. Some of the more recent modifications
include a bay window for the kitchen, remodeled bath, and back entry area. This is a perfect cabin for larger families or fishing parties. It has a full kitchen, a modern bath with endless hot water, a washer & dryer and Wi-Fi. Plus it has 2 bedrooms; one with a queen bed and the other with a full and two single beds. The living room has a queen hide-a-bed for additional sleeping accommodations. Plus there is an additional full bed in the mud room for an additional guest. The "Log Lodge" has a two day minimum stay. Click on "Pricing" for current rates.
